The soundtrack of Galicia and Portugal.

PAI Música edits the new recording job of Milladoiro where Eixo Atlántico and Cormorán come together to carry out a Galicia - Portugal twinning project with the Atlantic as mirror in the background, accurate reflection of the feeling and history that the band defines in the album introduction:

Soundtrack of the similar and different soul that we share, Galicia and Portugal. It’s a musical trip along the lands, the scrubs, the rivers, the language, the sea, the rythms, the traditions, the history; that they did of us two branches that were born from the same tree.

This way has its origin and inspiration in the loves of Mr. Pedro of Portugal and Mrs. Inés de Castro, from Galicia, who became Queen of Portugal after she died. We can find the title in this place that hides their story of love and death and it was the beginning of the beautiful legend that is the cradle of this musical story: A Quinta das lágrimas.
We covered the labyrinth of Middle Ages under the guidance of the "Cantigas de Santa María" of Alfonso X, for after we go into the music, into the rhythms that were born without borders, compositions of the Raia, carried by the tradition from one bank of the Miño to the other one as "Galope de Guistola" of the rich folklore miñoto (no se lo q es) and two themes of Tras os Montes and the traditional Galician theme "Foliada de Avión".
Toward the West, Galicia and Portugal observe that mystery without answer who is the Atlantic, the same infinite horizon. Fernando Pessoa talks of that sea in his poem called "Mar Portugues"; but there is another one, which is crossed by women and men in the crossings, sometimes without back, the sea of the work, poetic and real in the poem of Manoel Antonio "Sós".
At last, one day Portugal rose full of carnations. From that time is a singing to the new age in the "Venham mais cinco" of Jose Alfonso, that may we too make a version. Meanwhile, in this bank of the river, Luis E. Batallan did beautiful music for the poem of Álvaro Cunqueiro, "Quen puidera namorala", a déjà vu of the minstrels' poetry.

This job is the 23th in the history of the most representative and admirest band of the folk music of the country. The "Quinta das Lágrimas" is a back to the colors, to the beauty and to the exquisite care of the jobs of Milladoiro.

This album is recrded in Cormorán and Casa de Tolos studios and count on special collaborations as the female voices of Laura Amado and the fado singer from Lisbon Mafalda Arnauth.

Xose Manuel Piñeiro is again responsible for the design, another Milladoiro's travel mate since "A Galicia de Maeloc".
